Hitting on your draft picks is no small task. In fact, it's a necessity if you're looking to build sustained excellence within an organization.

The Los Angeles Rams have been one of the premier teams in the NFC since landing the head of the snake in Sean McVay. Much of their early success, including their Super Bowl, was built, however, through trading picks for premier players.

To create that sustained success with Matthew Stafford, you don't want to continually mortgage your future for an aging star. You want to build sustainability through the draft. That's exactly what they've done.

Offensively, their incredible RB tandem of Kyren Williams and Blake Corrum are both homegrown draft picks within the last three seasons. Likewise, their star WR Puka Nacua was also a 5th-round draft pick by Los Angeles.

Defensively, they have a few starters they've drafted, but arguably none more important than their  DL duo from the 2024 draft class.

Jared Verse and Braden Fiske leading the charge with sacks

When the Rams selected Verse in the 1st round and Fiske in the 2nd round of the 2024 NFL draft, initially, it was a cool story of Los Anges reuniting two FSU teammates at the next level.

What it turned into has been a best-case scenario for Los Angeles.

Of all defenders drafted in 2024, Verse and Fiske are tied for the most sacks among them all with 10.5. The only player with the same amount is the Colts' Laiatu Latu, who just reached 10.5 against Seattle this last weekend.

Pass rushers are a premium in this league, and the Rams have secured two of the best young talents in the league.

There is much being said currently about what Matthew Stafford's plans are moving forward at his age. One thing Rams fans must know is that they'll be in good hands if the organization continues to draft as it has been.
