Last week, the Los Angeles Rams escaped the wild-card round, beating the Carolina Panthers with a last-minute go-ahead touchdown.

The back-and-forth affair marked the return of the veteran and Pro-Bowl wide receiver, Davante Adams, who had previously missed the last three games of the Rams' regular season, and managed to help the team with five receptions for 72 yards.

That stat line easily reflects the impact Adams has made on Los Angeles as he led the league in touchdown receptions during the regular season, and is part of the two-headed monster for the team alongside Puka Nacua.

With the impressive play from this season, fans and Adams himself realize he has more left in the tank, but that may have been the case after last year's run with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.

Adams gets transparent about retirement

The 33-year-old receiver opened up about the idea of retirement on Tuesday during his appearance on the "Stephen A. Smith Show," admitting during the offseason that calling it a career was on the table.

Adams stated that in the offseason, the thought that "retirement could be a reality soon" crossed his mind.

However, in this great season with the Rams, that is not currently the focus for the six-time Pro Bowler, who declared that he is staying focused on still being able to produce at his age and that he hopes the Lord continues to bless him with his health.

After saying that, Adams followed up by saying, "But I like to think that where I'm at right now,  I don't need to think about retiring," while also declaring he'll have a better sense of how he feels about playing more seasons after this one.

As long as the Rams win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, then the future Hall of Famer won't have to worry about hanging up the cleats for at least another week.
