The Los Angeles Chargers are hoping to welcome back wide receiver Quentin Johnston for the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Johnston sat out last week's game due to a groin injury and was once again on the injury report this week.

The Chargers wide receiver logged three limited practices in the lead up to the game, which led to him getting the questionable designation for Sunday.

Will Johnston play this week? Here's what we know.

Is Quentin Johnston playing today?

The team has not confirmed Johnston's status, nor have there been any reports suggesting he will play, so he appears to be a true game-time decision.

We'll get final confirmation for Johnston's status around 11:30 a.m. ET, when the Chargers release their list of inactives.

Quentin Johnston start or sit advice

Johnston has been a non-factor for several weeks now after he got off to a hot start this season. Since Week 5, when his downslide began, Johnston ranks as WR69 overall in fantasy points per game.

Over his last three games played, the Chargers wide receiver has tallied just five catches for 31 yards and one touchdown.

The Cowboys are giving up the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, but Johnston just hasn't done anywhere near enough to be a starting consideration this week.

Add in the fact that he might be playing at less than 100% if he does suit up and it only strengthens the argument against starting Johnston.

Verdict: Sit
