There was no shortage of doubt about the Week 1 status of Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris throughout the offseason.
That's because Harris, who was signed in free agency earlier this offseason, sustained an eye injury in a fireworks accident in July and did not take part in practice during training camp or the preseason as a result.
Harris has been ramping up over the past few weeks in an attempt to be ready for the season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, but is he ready to go?
Here's the latest update on Harris' status for Week 1.
Is Najee Harris playing tonight?
According to the Chargers' official injury report, Harris logged all full practices this week and has been removed from the list, which confirms he will indeed suit up.
Taking it a step further, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Harris would be the starter, so he's going to have a role at running back, along with rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton.

"[Harris] says he's ready, and he looks ready to go," Harbaugh said. "Really hard to predict play counts. He's going to play football and have at it. That's the mindset."
It's difficult to predict who is going to see the majority of the work at running back for Los Angeles in Week 1. Hampton ran with the first-team offense in the preseason, but Harris also wasn't available to play.
At this point, we'd expect Harris to do most of the passing-down work given his NFL experience in that area, but we could see a 50/50 split with carries.
