It has been a disappointing season for Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey.
The second-year wide receiver was expected to have a big season in 2025 after being one of the very best rookies in the NFL in 2024 following an 1,100-yard campaign.
However, McConkey is going to fall well short of that total this season and yet another slow start in the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans isn't helping.
Here's a closer look at what's going on with the Chargers wide receiver on Saturday.
Is Ladd McConkey playing today?
UPDATE: With nine minutes left in the half, McConkey remains without even a target. We knew it would be tough sledding against an elite Texans defense but McConkey not having a single target thus far is shocking.
Yes, McConkey is active and healthy, he just hasn't gotten going yet.
This has been a pretty normal occurrence this season, as McConkey has a lot more competition for targets than he did in 2024.
When it comes to this week specifically, McConkey is going up against an elite pass defense in the Texans', so it might be tough sledding the rest of the way.
