The Las Vegas Raiders are slated to enter the 2025 season with a young wide receivers group.
Along with Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker, and Brock Bowers, the Raiders may have to rely on a pair of draft picks, Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton, for major roles in the passing attack in 2025.
As a result, the team may want to bring in some veteran depth just in case those two aren't able to make an impact in Year 1. Sports Grid's Grant White predicts the team will do that by signing seven-year veteran wide receiver, DJ Chark, in free agency.
A former second-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018, Chark put himself on the map with a 1,000-yard campaign in 2019 that earned him his first and only Pro Bowl appearance.
However, things have gone off the rails for him since then, with injuries being one of his biggest issues.
Despite all that, Chark would still be worth taking a flyer on. At best, Chark would be the No. 3 option in the receivers room, and the No. 4 option in total when you include Bowers, so he won't be needed for a major role.
And, he'll come very cheap, so if things don't pan out, he can easily be cut. Spotrac projects the 28-year-old will land a one-year, $1.5 million deal in free agency.
Not only would Chark provide a little extra insurance for the youngsters, he'd increase the competition for depth spots in the group, which would be good for Thornton and Bech.
