Las Vegas Raiders second-year offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson left Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos in the second quarter with a leg injury. Following the game, coach Pete Carroll spoke briefly about the big man's condition.

With not a lot of information himself, as the game had just ended, Carroll simply stated that Powers-Johnson will be out "for a while."

The 6'3", 325-pound Jackson Powers-Johnson was a second-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft and is a full-time starter on the Vegas front line. In his brief career with the Raiders, he has played in 21 games, starting 19 of them. Following his initial season, he was named to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie team.

Losing Powers-Johnson devastates the passing game

Powers-Johnson is also a vital part of the pass-blocking schemes that the team employs. His absence proved to be costly. After he left the game, quarterback Geno Smith was hit repeatedly, suffering a leg injury, but he managed to play through the Raiders' 10-7 loss to Denver.

For the Raiders and their offensive line, it's been a case of, when it rains, it pours. Starting left guard Dylan Parham suffered a high ankle sprain, which also occurred in the second quarter. The team also has left tackle Kolton Miller on injured reserve.

In NFL vernacular, Carroll's use of the term 'for a while', typically means a couple of weeks. The big man is expected to be reevaluated today, but his availability for the team's November 17 Monday Night Footbal l showdown against the Dallas Cowboys is doubtful.
