Raiders and Cardinals head coach rumors pinpoint front-runner for each job image

A new report reveals who the front-runners are for the head-coach vacancies of the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals.

According to SNY's Connor Hughes, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is the front-runner for the Raiders job, while Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur is the leader in the clubhouse for Arizona's vacancy.

"Other coaching front runners at the moment, per sources: Kubiak to the Raiders and LaFleur to the Cardinals," Hughes reported.

It's not surprising to see either one of those names mentioned, as both LaFleur and Kubiak have drawn plenty of interest in this head-coaching cycle.

The Cardinals in particular have interviewed LaFleur twice, which means he's definitely a finalist.

Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, there haven't been any reports about a second interview for Kubiak. That can still happen this week, but so far the Raiders haven't brought him in, which gives us pause about his reported status as a front-runner.

The Raiders have brought in four different candidates for second interviews, a list that includes Davis Webb, Brian Daboll, Ejiro Evero and Joe Brady.

However, one of those candidates is now off the board, as Brady was promoted to head coach by the Buffalo Bills. Daboll is reportedly going to take the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator job, but only if he doesn't get the Raiders gig.

Back to Kubiak: if the Raiders do bring him in for a second interview and there's a mutual interest in making him the head coach, Las Vegas cannot officially hire the Seahawks play-caller until after the Super Bowl, per NFL rules.
