Maxx Crosby adds to Raiders injury controversy with latest social media posts image

The Las Vegas Raiders and star edge rusher Maxx Crosby are not on the best of terms right now.

During the week, the Raiders decided to shut Crosby down for the remainder of the 2025 campaign by placing him on injured reserve. The team cited Crosby's knee injury as the reason behind the move.

Crosby reportedly did not take that news well.

According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, Crosby "vehemently disagreed" with the decision and wanted to play out the final games of the season.

Crosby was so upset, he left the team's building upon learning of the decision to shut him down.

"Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down last two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building [NFL on FOX] has learned," Glazer said. "This could lead to questions on his future in Vegas."

Now, Crosby's knee injury is legitimate, and it's something he has been dealing with all season long. In fact, Crosby even needs surgery to repair his issue.

However, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Crosby got a pair of extra opinions from doctors that said he could play if he can tolerate the pain.

Crosby showed on Saturday that he indeed may be healthy enough to play after he posted videos to social media showing him playing basketball and jumping on a trampoline.

Now, neither of those activities are as strenuous as playing in an NFL game, but they do show Crosby isn't incapable of suiting up.

And, yes, we would imagine those posts were very much done on purpose to show that is the case.

While we appreciate Crosby's desire to keep playing despite the Raiders being eliminated from playoff contention, it makes sense for Las Vegas to sit him.

After all, there is no sense risking Crosby making his knee injury worse and running the risk of it impacting his 2026 campaign.

Furthermore, that would be a disaster scenario for the Raiders if they are considering trading Crosby during the offseason.

Another reason it makes sense to sit Crosby is doing so lessens the chance the Raiders will win and screw up their draft positioning, something that would be costly with the Raiders looking for their next franchise quarterback.
