Lamar Jackson sends Ravens, Raiders fans into a frenzy over retweet of trade idea image

It isn't clear if he's trying to tell us something or if he's just trolling, but Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson retweeted a post on X talking about a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The post was from a random X user, @shantell_jlopez, and talked about how their three-year-old might have "predicted the potential move of [Jackson] to the Raiders."

No, Jackson hasn't been traded to the Raiders, but his retweet of the post is interesting nonetheless.

The post still sits atop Jackson's X page as we write this, but here is at a screenshot of the post in question that includes evidence Jackson retweeted it at the top just in case he deletes it.

We suspect Jackson was just trolling here, but some confirmation would be nice.

With the Raiders having a clear need at quarterback, there have been a few rumors linking the Raiders to a possible trade for Jackson in recent months.

The first came from The Baltimore Sun's Mike Preston, who named the Raiders as a possible landing spot for Jackson, who he suggested wouldn't mind playing in Vegas thanks to the presence of minority owner Tom Brady.

"The Ravens should look at possible trades, which could net them two or three first-round picks," Preston said. "Jackson would love to play in Miami, where quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is no longer the starter, or possibly Las Vegas, where Brady, a partial owner of the Raiders, has shown a fondness for him. Baltimore should also draft a young quarterback in the early rounds."

Then, more recently, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that there is a belief the Raiders could make a play for Jackson this offseason.

“There are some who believe, and this was in the Mike Preston column about the Ravens and Lamar Jackson, and I have a feeling that Mike Preston has heard the same kind of things I have heard. There’s a feeling out there that the Raiders are going to make a play for Lamar. That that’s the big splash,” Florio said on PFT Live.

Even an executive that spoke to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler predicted the Raiders would make a blockbuster trade for Jackson this offseason.

There hasn't been any indication that the Ravens are considering trading Jackson, but we do know a contract negotiation is coming up with Baltimore looking to lower Jackson's 2026 cap hit.

If things get messy there, it's not crazy to think the two sides could part ways, but we don't envision that happening and instead expect Jackson to remain with the Ravens.

As for the Raiders, as much as Jackson would massively upgrade the quarterback position in Las Vegas, we suspect the Raiders would prefer to just draft Fernando Mendoza No. 1 overall instead.

But if he doesn't declare, the Raiders making a play for Jackson becomes more likely, assuming he does become available at some point.
