Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kenny Pickett is on the cusp of tying an NFL record after he was traded yet again.

Pickett was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Raiders on Monday evening in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick. This marks the third time he has been traded since his entering the NFL.

Drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickett was dealt just two years later to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. Philadelphia then sent Pickett packing to the Browns earlier this offseason after he spent last season serving as Jalen Hurts' backup.

After being traded three times over his first four years in the league, Pickett is the second player in the last 30 years to earn that distinction, along with fellow quarterback Sam Howell.

If Pickett gets traded for a fourth time, he'll tie an NFL record. Only wide receiver Brandin Cooks and legendary running back Eric Dickerson have been traded four times.

It isn't crazy to think the Raiders could turn around and trade Pickett at some point in 2025. After all, Aidan O'Connell will be back from a fractured wrist after six to eight weeks, at which point Las Vegas could trade Pickett to a team in need of a backup.

However, that isn't guaranteed to happen and the Raiders could trade O'Connell instead.

The former fourth-round pick was not having much success this offseason. Not only did he struggle in the preseason, but head coach Pete Carroll also noted the Raiders' offense wasn't "quite as fast" with O'Connell at the helm.

"I thought Aidan continued to little bit — we're not quite as fast when he's playing," he said. "We don't play as quick from huddle to the snap, still trying to work that out. And he made a poor choice on the throw for the pick, unfortunately. It was a crucial time, that was tough. Just the guy was covered, and if he had to it throw away or take off, we would have preferred that."

At the end of the day, who the Raiders trade will likely come down to which signal-caller garners the most interest and best pick in return. Right now, we'd bet Pickett is that guy.
