Jack Jones' time with the Las Vegas Raiders was a roller coaster, to say the least.

Jones was scooped up off waivers by the Raiders in 2023 after he was cut loose by the New England Patriots. Jones went on to be a revelation for Las Vegas over seven games that season and appeared to have revived his career.

But, in 2024, Jones' quality of play dipped significantly, and he was even benched for a lack of effort, or "business decisions," as former head coach Antonio Pierce put it.

With a new regime in Vegas in 2025, Jones was cut, which allowed the Miami Dolphins to scoop him up.

The Dolphins were happy to have Jones in Week 11 after he secured a game-changing interception in overtime that allowed the Dolphins to grab a 16-13 win over the equally lowly Washington Commanders.

After the game, Jones randomly called out his former team, saying the Raiders made a mistake in letting him go.

As far as we can tell, Jones hasn't spoken the name of his former team this season, so it is a bit odd for him to do so now. He was apparently waiting for the moment he actually did something significant for Miami.

Jones hasn't been terrible this season, but he hasn't been great, either.

The veteran cornerback has given up a completion rate of 60% and a passer rating of 107.5 while posting a Pro Football Focus grade of 50.5 in coverage. His interception on Sunday was Jones' first of the season.

Meanwhile, one of the guys who replaced him, cornerback Eric Stokes, has been one of the very best in the NFL at the position this season.

Stokes enters Week 11 with a 71.2 PFF coverage grade, which ranks 18th out of 105 cornerbacks. Stokes' 53.3% completion rate allowed and 76.8 passer rating surrendered are the second-best marks of his career.

The Raiders are still figuring things out at the other cornerback spots, but it's fair to say keeping Jones wouldn't have made much of a difference for Las Vegas.
