In the aftermath of the Dallas Cowboys shockingly trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, an analyst ranked the 10-biggest trades in league history and the Raiders were included in the list.
FOX Sports compiled the list and ranked the Parsons deal at No. 4. Landing ahead of that trade was the Cowboys-Vikings Herschel Walker trade (No. 1), the Colts-Rams Marshall Faulk trade (No. 2) and the Rams-Colts Eric Dickerson trade (No.3).
The Raiders showed up at No. 9 in the rankings for their trade of wide receiver Randy Moss to the New England Patriots in 2007.
After Moss was moved to the Patriots, his career found a second wind. He developed a special connection with Tom Brady and surpassed the 1,000-receiving yards mark each season. In 2007, he posted a career-high 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns, the most by a receiver in a single season. Despite the individual success, Moss wasn't a part of New England's Super Bowl-winning teams.
Moss, who was acquired from the Vikings in 2005 for a first-round pick, a seventh-round pick and Napoleon Harris, spent two seasons with the Raiders and had 1,005 yards in 2005 before he saw a major dip in production in 2006 with 553 yards.
Safe to say, that trade didn't come close to panning out for the Raiders.
New England sent the Raiders a fourth-round pick for Moss, which proved to be a steal. Moss resurrected his career with the Pats and put together one of the better campaigns for a wideout in league history in 2007.
While that 2007 team was unbelievable, the Patriots didn't win the Super Bowl that year, or in any year Moss was on the roster. That takes some of the shine off the now-infamous trade, but it's one New England would certainly make again.
With the fourth-round pick received in the Moss trade with the Patriots, the Raiders drafted defensive back John Bowie, who played in just five games over two seasons and never played another snap after the 2009 season.
