Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Cam Miller was all the rage after the team's preseason Week 1 game, but he had a bit of a reality check on Saturday.

In the preseason Week 2 contest against the San Francisco 49ers, Miller came in with 9:27 left in the game and ultimately had just two drives.

Miller did threw a few impressive passes on his first series and led the Raiders to a field goal, but those were his only completions on the afternoon.

On his second series, Miller had a chance to drive down the field and win the game, albeit with just 37 seconds left. Unfortunately, he was sacked twice and ended the drive with an interception.

Miller's completion to wide receiver Shedrick Jackson was a great throw, and he continues to look poised in the pocket before firing. But Miller also had some misfires and didn't do a great job picking up the blitz.

Miller had no doubt gained some momentum to be considered as a competitor for Aidan O'Connell for the Raiders' QB2 job, and while O'Connell didn't play well once again in preseason Week 2, Miller didn't really do enough to gain ground.

The rookie will have one more opportunity to show his stuff in preseason Week 3, but right now it looks like O'Connell will hold on to the backup job.

If he does, the Raiders will have to decide if Miller is worth keeping around as a third quarterback or if they'll use the roster spot on someone else.
