Omarion Hampton and Ashton Jeanty were the highest-drafted running backs in 2025 and both showed why the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders, respectively, were so high on them in Week 4.
Jeanty finally had his breakout game after a rough start to the campaign. The No. 6 overall pick totaled three touchdowns and 155 yards from scrimmage, including 138 on the ground.
Hampton was equally impressive after ripping off 128 yards and a touchdown on the ground and 37 yards through the air, which was his second standout game in a row.
Thanks to those monster performances from Jeanty and Hampton, an NFL record was broken.
According to ESPN's Bill Barnwell, rookie running backs totaled 737 yards in Week 4, which is the most by any rookie class in any week of September in NFL history.
The biggest concern for both backs moving forward is their offensive lines.
Las Vegas' group upfront was putrid over the first three weeks, which was a big cause of Jeanty's struggles.
The Raiders' offensive line rebounded in a big way on Sunday, but the team also lost left tackle Kolton Miller for what could be multiple weeks following his suffering an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, the Chargers are without left tackle Rashawn Slater for the rest of the season and his replacement, fellow tackle Joe Alt, is now likely to miss multiple weeks because of an ankle injury.
The good news is, both Jeanty and Hampton are starting to look like the elite prospects they were advertised as.
