Will unwanted history be made for Chiefs vs. Eagles? image

The Kansas City Chiefs will look to get some revenge against the Philadelphia Eagles for the Super Bowl loss when the two meet at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 2.

With the Chiefs not seen as the invincible team they were just a couple of games ago, and the Eagles seemingly still able to continue rolling forward, it feels like a fork in the road moment for Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.

After the Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, the Chiefs need to get themselves back in the winner's circle, but that looks to be a tall order with no Rashee Rice and likely Xavier Worthy to call upon.

Also, there is a chance for the Chiefs to make some unwanted history in the Mahomes era if things go south against the Eagles, and it is a stat that will shock you.

Since coming into the league, Mahomes has never been 0-2 to start a season per NFL.com, which is a little eye-opening, and given how the Chiefs juggernaut has continued to roll for the past half-decade or so, things appear to be changing.

Can Chiefs avoid unwanted history vs. Eagles?

In short, of course, they can, and the Eagles, had it not been for CeeDee Lamb's costly drops late in the fourth quarter, would have likely lost their home opener, so both teams come into this a tad wobbly, but the Chiefs more so than Philadelphia.

Being at home, one would like to fancy the Chiefs to notch their first win of the season, but are there mental scars from the Super Bowl beatdown? One would think there have to be a few.

But Kansas City will be at home and have a chance to put this troubled train back on the tracks because if they do succumb to the Eagles, not only will Nick Sirianni's team have the mental edge over the Chiefs, but they will also be the ones to give the current AFC champs some unwanted history.

Could Mahomes really start 0-2 for the first time in his career?

Chiefs Kingdom hopes not.
