After Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones was absent from practice on Friday due to a personal reason, it wasn't clear if he would suit up for the huge Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The cause of Jones' absence was a death in the family, it was later revealed.
That led to Jones flying to Mississippi to be with his family to mourn the loss of his aunt. But that also put Jones in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Ravens, as the funeral was on the same day.
Why did Chris Jones show up right before kickoff vs. Ravens?
Jones took off from Mississippi at around 2:30 p.m. ET, which left him only a shade under two hours to make it to Kansas City for the game.
And Jones was able to make it thanks to the flight only being about 45 minutes to one hour in length.
"I was told Chiefs DT Chris Jones is taking off from Mississippi now. 45-1 (hour) flight. Will have an escort to the stadium which should take about 15 minutes. Expected a little late for warmups but should be good to go for the game," CBS Sports' Tracy Wolfson reported.
Here's a look at Jones showing up to the stadium and still in his suit about 20 or so minutes right before kickoff.
Chris Jones is officially in Arrowhead Stadium.
