The Kansas City Chiefs are struggling to keep their heads above water in search of playoff football, and Week 15 has the potential to put them out of their misery.

Having lost four of its last five games, coupled with both sides of the ball being oddly inconsistent, Kansas City has now backed itself into a corner where it doesn't control its own destiny anymore.

It has to win out and hope other results go their way.

But as NFL.com's Kevin Patra writes, the season is on life support.

“The room for error now is zero,” Patra wrote. “A Week 15 loss would officially eliminate the Chiefs from playoff contention. Even with a win, their odds only increase to 16%. Kansas City needs to win out, and it needs help from others. Losers of four of their last five, the Chiefs are on the brink. A win would keep their hopes alive for another week.”

Can Chiefs stay live for one more week?

We have been saying for years, " doubt the Chiefs as your peril," but this season, time and time again, Kansas City has faltered when it otherwise would have passed with flying colors.

So has the "trust" factor run out?

For some, yes, as they have already put a line through the Chiefs as a playoff team in 2025, but others are still clinging to hope that there is one final moment of magic from this team that sees its season on the verge of ending with three weeks left in the season.

It all comes down to one game on Sunday for Kansas City.

Win, and the season continues for another week.

But lose, and for the first time in the Mahomes era, the Chiefs will be watching the playoffs from the couch.
