It was a rough night for the Kansas City Chiefs in their 20-10 loss at the hands of the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs struggled mightily on offense all night long, and it also didn't help that two key pass-catchers, wide receiver Rashee Rice and tight end Travis Kelce, let Kansas City down in crucial moments.

Both Rice and Kelce had multiple bad drops in important spots late in the game that helped thwart the Chiefs' comeback attempt in the fourth quarter.

Ultimately, Rice finished with just four catches for 34 yards while Kelce posted one catch for eight yards. Not exactly ideal production for two stars players in what was the Chiefs' most important game of the season.

After the game, The Athletic's Jesse Newell reported that neither Rice nor Kelce spoke with the media. In fact, Kelce declined an interview request twice.

"Chiefs WR Rashee Rice left the locker room before reporters entered. Tight end Travis Kelce declined interview requests twice," Newell wrote.

We get it, it was a frustrating game and no player feels like talking to the media after that kind of performance on Sunday night. But running from taking accountability is not the way to go for either player.

Not only will that not sit well with fans, who want to hear what Rice and Kelce had to say about their crucial mistakes, but it may not sit well with their teammates who did face the music of answering tough questions from the media.

It has been a frustrating season for the Chiefs, and Kelce and Rice dodging the media is just another example of that.

Kansas City enters Week 15 with just a 16% chance to make the postseason, per the New York Times Playoff Simulator, and one of the avenues to the playoffs is now closed because the Chiefs are mathematically eliminated from AFC West contention.

It's a harsh reality for a franchise that hasn't been in this spot in a long, long time.
