Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift wedding details

At the time, there are very limited details on the future wedding for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift — if any. The two announced their engagement in the summer of 2025, so it may take more time for them to plan the event, including its date and location.

However, People Magazine did report in September 2025 that anonymous sources said the Kelce-Swift wedding would be "more private."

"It will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle,” the source told People. “They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.”

Rumors have suggested that the wedding could take place at Swift's mansion in Westerly, Rhode Island, as a Boston.com report indicates, but there is no confirmation yet that the event will be held at the multi-million dollar property.

When did Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift get engaged?

On Aug. 26, 2025, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement on social media. However, they had reportedly been engaged for around two weeks before then.

Kelce's father, Ed, told News 5 that Travis proposed to Taylor "maybe two weeks" prior to the public announcement.

"He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event," Ed Kelce told News 5. "And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event ... when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you."

Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce proposal details

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's proposal was in a garden of flowers, including pink and white roses as a backdrop for the longtime NFL star as he got down on one knee.

Swift wore a Polo Ralph Lauren halter dress, gold accessories and tan sandal heels, while Kelce donned a short-sleeve navy cableknit sweater, khaki shorts and brown loafers. The two posed for pictures, sharing photos of the engagement on Instagram.

According to News 5, Travis Kelce's proposal took place at a garden outside his home in Lee's Summit, Missouri. His father provided some insight into how the proposal went down.

"He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, 'Let's go out and have a glass of wine,' ... they got out there, and that's when he asked her, and it was beautiful," Ed Kelce told News 5 of the engagement. "They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great."

Later on, Kelce spoke about his engagement on his "New Heights" podcast.

"The first time I introduced Taylor as my fiancée to my teammates, it was pretty cool," he said. "I still get giddy, it's exciting times. It is still fresh. It has been so much fun hearing from everybody and seeing the internet go crazy."

Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift engagement announcement

While Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift had reportedly already been engaged for two weeks when they shared the news, they dropped the biggest celebrity news of the day on Aug. 26, 2025.

New Heights Taylor Swift episode

Just weeks before the engagement announcement, Swift and Kelce were already at the center of the pop culture world when they appeared together on Travis and Jason Kelce's popular podcast, "New Heights."

The episode was significant for a few reasons; not only was it the first time that Travis and Taylor sat down together for an in-depth interview after months upon months of dating, but it also marked a rare opportunity for fans of Swift to get insight into her career that she doesn't offer often.

The premiere of the episode became an event in itself for fans. On Aug. 13, 2025, the "New Heights episode" dropped, with Swift using the appearance to announce her next album, "The Life of a Showgirl." As Jason and Travis Kelce spoke to Swift over the podcast, she discussed her reclaiming her music, how she has gotten into football as a fan of the Chiefs, her hobbies, the details of her album, and more.

While Ed Kelce did say that the couple got engaged around two weeks prior to the Aug. 26 announcement, it's unknown whether Travis and Taylor were already engaged when recording the podcast.

The episode became, by far, the most popular for "New Heights" ever, and it also set a YouTube record for most concurrent podcast views with 1.3 million.

There is no official known cost of Swift's engagement ring. However, according to a USA Today story, jewelers have offered various ranges for the price.
