The Kansas City Chiefs' offense, for so long with Patrick Mahomes at the helm, has had a knack for making the right play at the right time late in games, but that hasn't been the case this season.
Losing four of their last five games, the Chiefs' offense has been guilty of self-inflicted wounds we aren't used to seeing, with penalties and crippling drops that end drives, and with it, the chance to win games goes out the window.
Now at 6-7, the Chiefs' season is on the line Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Win and the season continues. Lose, and the playoffs can't be achieved.
And for offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, he's dropped a huge question at the feet of his offense after a poor performance against the Houston Texans.
“These guys care, you saw it after the game,” Nagy said. “It has nothing to do with lack of effort. It has nothing to do with not caring. These guys want it. This is new territory for us. So, it's how do we handle this new territory?”

Nagy's comments should hit the offense right between the eyes.
This is uncharted territory for the Chiefs, having been the gold standard for excellence for the past five or so years, and at this stage of the year, the playoffs have already been locked in.
But not this year.
So, with their entire season on the line, how will this Chiefs team respond?
Will they come through in the clutch and extend their season for another week? Or will things fall apart as they did at the end of the Texans game, and the AFC kings fall away into the abyss?
We'll find out Sunday.
