The Kansas City Chiefs could use a reinforcement at wide receiver and it appears that could happen this week.

According to ESPN's Nate Taylor, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals will return to practice on Wednesday.

At the moment, it isn't clear if he'll be a full or limited participant, but any practice participation would be great news for Royals and the Chiefs.

Royals' participation will be the first the rookie has seen since this season began. He is dealing with a knee injury and sat out each of the first six practices of the 2025 campaign.

Drafted in the fifth round in April, Royals was one of the biggest standouts on the team in training camp. As a result, he was expected to help cover for the loss of Rashee Rice during his six-game suspension.

Royals' return is even more important now that Xavier Worthy is dealing with a shoulder injury. Worthy didn't suit up in Week 2, but after turning in a few limited practices last week, there's a chance he plays in Week 3.

However, Worthy is also playing through his shoulder injury and the risk of aggravating it is high.

The Chiefs will release their injury report later in the day, so we'll know how much Royals did at practice then.
