The Kansas City Chiefs know it's gut-check time. The season is officially on the line on Sunday night against the Houston Texans.
Win, and the playoffs remain within reach, albeit just. But lose, and the Chiefs will most likely be out of playoff contention with a month of the season to go.
At this time of the season, and given the current predicament Kansas City finds itself in, anything and everything is on the table, including Patrick Mahomes as a runner, doing anything he can to move the ball and score points.
And Patrick knows it will be all gas, no brakes, on Sunday night.
“You're going to have to utilize everything, not just my legs,” Mahomes said. “You got to utilize everything you have to go out there and win. This is a really good football team that's playing really good football right now and has a really good defense. We have to throw it all out there and try to find a way to win.
"This will be a big game for us to showcase who we are and who we think we can be moving on the rest of the season.”

Chiefs to empty kit bag vs. Texans
Make no mistake, folks, on both sides of the ball, the Chiefs will be diving deep into their bag of tricks.
Andy Reid will be using every exotic play on his call sheet, and you can imagine defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will be doing the same.
That makes the Chiefs a dangerous team, but there is a risk that those plays won't work; that is the bed the Chiefs have made for themselves.
They have to play like there is no tomorrow, because if they lose, there isn't (playoff-wise).
So, yes, Mahomes is right. The Chiefs will have to "throw it all out there" on Sunday to ensure their season stays alive.
