Patrick Mahomes is one of the most exciting, talented, accomplished quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.
But there's one feat he won't be chasing after.
The Kansas City Chiefs QB has been one of the most speculated favorites to quarterback the United States flag football team at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Mahomes isn't on board, though.
“I’ll probably leave that to the younger guys,” Mahomes told reporters on Thursday. “I’ll be a little older by the time that thing comes around.”
Mahomes will be 32 years old when the inaugural flag football competition at the Olympics is played.
His mixture of arm talent and ability to throw from any platform with precision make him an obvious choice to represent the U.S.

Mahomes' probable absence won't hinder the United States too much. There's pretty much the entire NFL to choose from at the quarterback position if the U.S. does indeed go that route as opposed to picking established flag football players.
The timing is also tricky for quarterbacks, who are getting into training camp at about the time the Olympics would be taking place.
Mahomes will still be chasing more Super Bowls at that point, and multiple weeks away from his time midway through the summer probably isn't the best thing, anyway.
It's still too bad. Mahomes at the Olympics would've been special.
