Chiefs make interesting QB move after Gardner Minshew injury image

The last two weeks for the Kansas City Chiefs have been horrendous, from a season standpoint, and an injury one as well.

Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, and on Sunday, Gardner Minshew, who was filling in for Patrick, suffered what we thought at the time was an ACL injury, but we now know it isn't that bad.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport posted on X that Minshew suffered a non-displaced tibial plateau fracture to his knee, which is a bad bone bruise, according to Rapoport. Minshew will still be placed on IR, and as such, the Chiefs have made a quarterback move.

Former Buffalo Bills quarterback Shane Buechele has been signed from the practice squad to the active roster, per Rapoport.

Will Buechele play vs. Broncos?

Considering he has been signed to the active roster, reading the tea leaves, you could make that case.

With Chris Oladokun stepping in for Minshew on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, Buechele will now join him as the Chiefs have two quarterback options to work into the rotation ahead of Christmas Day.

Exactly who will start is anyone's guess, but the Chiefs don't have long to figure that out.

It hasn't been the best of seasons for Kansas City, and now the quarterback room has a completely different feel to it for the final two weeks.

Can they rally and sneak a win?
