Do you feel that? The winds of change are blowing through the AFC West, and the Kansas City Chiefs are about to be knocked off their perch as division champs.

The 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos saw Kansas City's already long-shot hopes of a 10th straight division title go up in smoke, in what was a penalty-plagued performance from Andy Reid's team.

The Chiefs couldn't get out of their own way in critical moments, something that we aren't accustomed to, and as a result, handed someone else the keys to the division for the first time in nine seasons.

For CBS Sports' John Breech, he's given the Chiefs a "C" grade for the loss, while stating that maybe the lucky juice is beginning to run out.

"Whenever the Chiefs need a win, they always seem to find a way to get it, but they finally ran out of magic," Breech writes. "The Chiefs (5-5) can still make the playoffs, but it feels like their nine-year reign atop the AFC West is over."

Chiefs' playoff path a tough one

Currently out of the playoffs if they started today, the Chiefs are even a full game behind the seventh seed, which is the 6-4 Jacksonville Jaguars, who have already beaten the Chiefs this season.

So even if the Chiefs and Jaguars tie for their season records, Jacksonville would get the nod for a playoff spot over Kansas City due to owning the tiebreaker.

Things appear dire right now for the Chiefs, and while head Coach Andy Reid says his team isn't as negative about its current predicament as the outside world, there's no denying it's gut-check time for Kansas City.

If there is a path to the postseason for the Chiefs, it isn't going to be an easy one.
