The Kansas City Chiefs saw their season end with a 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but what is even more brutal is the injury to quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

With Mahomes driving late in the fourth quarter, he injured his knee and was forced off, which forced Gardner Minshew into the game with Patrick out.

Seen hobbling with two trainers as he headed to the locker room, it didn't look good for the three-time Super Bowl champ, and many were waiting to see the extent of the injury.

And speaking post-game, head coach Andy Reid offered something on his injured quarterback.

“Patrick hurt his left knee, he'll get an MRI tomorrow or this evening," Reid said.

The head coach was then asked if the knee injury was serious, and here is where Chiefs Kingdom won't like what Reid said.

"I don’t know but it didn’t look good," Reid added via NFL Network's Jane Slater.

Regardless of whether Mahomes escapes serious injury, the Chiefs would be wise to sit him for the rest of the season, which is only three games.

Clearly hobbled before he got injured, Mahomes left it all out on that field at Arrowhead Stadium, and he might have paid a heavy price. Yes, Reid says it didn't look good, but we have heard coaches say that before, and players suit up the following week.

It won't matter what the results of Patrick's MRI are; you can nearly count on the Chiefs sitting Mahomes out for the last three games.

With no playoffs on the line anymore, it makes zero sense for the Chiefs to put their greatest asset at risk for no reason.
