The Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 season wasn't what we were expecting, with the AFC champs not even making the playoffs.
In truth, the entire season was up and down for the Chiefs, and by Week 16, they weren't in playoff contention.
That meant the coaching staff finally had extra time to go through the roster and gameplans with a fine-tooth comb to figure out what worked and what didn't.
And for head coach Andy Reid, he knows that what the Chiefs put out on tape in 2025 is going to be vastly different from what we see in 2026.
“We try to give you a little different flavor every year and stay ahead of things," Reid said. "I think we've got to do a better job all the way around and every area. I think that's important. You use all the technology that's out there. There's no reason to be stagnant. You've got too many different options. You shouldn't have to bring in the latest greatest.
"You've got all that right at a fingertip if you want to go that route.”

Chiefs ready for 2026 bounce back
The first big change was bringing back Eric Bieniemy to be the offensive coordinator. Having worked with the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes before, with Super Bowls and MVPs won, EB is coming back to bring that level of play to Kansas City.
Offensively, the Chiefs will look to improve their run game in the offseason, along with getting Mahomes another weapon to pair with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy.
Travis Kelce's status is unknown, but we expect to learn his intentions sooner rather than later, so things will be different on the personnel front in 2026.
The Chiefs won't be stagnant after a horror 2025 by their lofty standards, and what that could mean for 2026 should terrify the rest of the NFL.
