There is no denying that the Kansas City Chiefs' dynasty is close to being over, and as such, roster turnover will be expected in the offseason.

Several aging stars will see their futures with another team, or some might walk into retirement having done a superb job over the past five or so years.

One such player is Travis Kelce.

The veteran didn't have his best game against the Houston Texans, with multiple drops, and for some, Travis should be hanging up the cleats at season's end. But in doing so, he'll create a job opening.

And for CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan, there are some interesting options out there.

"Father Time is ticking when it comes to Travis Kelce, who has looked a step slower in recent years," Sullivan writes. "After mulling retirement last offseason, it's fair to wonder if this will be it for the future Hall of Fame tight end.

"Pending free agent tight ends like David Njoku, Kyle Pitts, and Isaiah Likely could be intriguing options to fill Kelce's shoes at his position and be another weapon for Mahomes."

Should Chiefs move on from Kelce?

Given what Kelce has done for this franchise for over a decade, you can make the case that he decides when his career ends, not the Chiefs.

But there is no doubt that Kelce isn't the player he once was, despite having 727 yards and five touchdowns on the year, so he's still being productive.

However, there comes a time when the shift has to occur, and even if Kelce doesn't hang them up at the end of the year, Kansas City has to get proactive in searching for his replacement.

Whether that be via the draft, or a quality free agent that Sullivan mentions above, there are options for the Chiefs to improve the position.

Kelce's a future Hall of Famer, no doubt, but football waits for no one, and the Chiefs should be looking at his heir over the coming months.
