The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the cusp of getting tight end Brenton Strange back from injury.

Strange suffered a hip injury in the Week 5 win over the Kansas City Chiefs that landed him on injured reserve. He was fortunate, though, as the injury wasn't a season-ending issue.

Prior to the injury, Strange was in the midst of a career year, as he tallied 204 yards in five games, leaving him a shade over 200 yards shy of his personal-best mark. Despite missing four games, he still has plenty of time to get there.

On Monday, the Jaguars announced they are taking the first step toward bringing Strange back from injured reserve this week, which opens the door for him to possibly return in Week 11.

Jaguars head coach Liam Coen announced on Monday that Strange will be designated to return from injured reserve this week.

Coen added that the team is "hopeful" Strange will be able to play this week.

"We're obviously hopeful [Strange could play this Sunday] but have to take it day to day," Coen said, per ESPN's Michael DiRocco.

This opens the 21-day window on Strange. If the Jaguars do not activate him after the 21 days, he will have to miss the rest of the season.

Of course, there is no guarantee that Strange will be ready to play in Week 11, but this does at least give him a chance.

We'll know more on Wednesday, when Jacksonville releases its first injury report of the week ahead of its game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
