There has been a major setback in Travis Hunter's rookie season.

Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 9 trip to take on the Las Vegas Raiders, Hunter was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed knee injury. The news comes as Hunter & Co. Were returning to action from a bye week. In his last outing, Hunter scored the first touchdown of his NFL career.

Now, the focus shifts to the immediate future, as the severity of the injury will dictate what Hunter will be able to do for the remainder of his rookie season.

What is Travis Hunter's injury?

Hunter sustained a knee injury in practice on Thursday, Oct. 30, according to Jaguars head coach Liam Coen. Adding to the concern is that Hunter's injury was sustained without contact.

The injury designation has not yet been provided, but Coen told reporters that the team and its training staff are working to determine the best course of action. The Jaguars played in London during Week 7 and were idle in Week 8.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that initial testing showed that Hunter's ACL is in tact, but the exact injury and timeline is yet to be determined. Per Schefter, "no answers are expected before next week."
