The Jacksonville Jaguars' season may be over, but it was one of the best seasons in franchise history. Their 13 wins were the second-most in the history of the team, and Trevor Lawrence cemented himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

The next step for general manager James Gladstone is to find a way to bring in a difference-maker who can, not only get the Jaguars back to the postseason, but put them atop the favorites to come out of the AFC. And it just so happens that there is a certain edge rusher that is rumored to be available.

The Jaguars Should Trade For Maxx Crosby

Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby had his season end in controversial fashion. With the Raiders' season already dead and gone, they shut down their star edge rusher in the season's final two weeks. Crosby ended up having knee surgery, but was so angered by the team pulling the plug on his 2025 season that he left the facility upon being told that he wouldn't be playing another snap.

Considering how far away the Raiders seem to be from being truly competitive in the AFC, it would make sense for them to get a big haul in exchange for Crosby while he can still garner one.

In terms of what the Jaguars can send to the Raiders, they may not have a first-round selection in 2026, but they have a second-round pick and three third-round picks. Trading away their second-round pick and a pair of those third-round picks as the base for a trade should get the job done.

Two years ago, Crosby may have been able to command a first-round pick in a trade. He will be 29, though, when the season kicks off, and had just 10 sacks in 2025. That's not to say he's fallen off dramatically as a player - he's still great - but the Raiders aren't going to get a haul similar to what they got for Khalil Mack for Crosby. That said, three additional top 100 picks would be a huge get for the Raiders.

If there ends up being mutual interest in a trade, it would benefit both sides.
