The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted their first playoff game since 2018, and in both instances the opposing team was the Buffalo Bills.
Unlike 2018, the Jags were unable to win as they could not hold off Josh Allen and Buffalo. Allen led a game-winning drive, largely attacking Jacksonville with his legs.
While no one can say this season was disappointing by any means, many members of the Jaguars community were reasonably frustrated at their team losing in the opening round of the playoffs.
Liam Coen was obviously not happy in his post-game press conference, so this reporter decided to give him his flowers for an excellent first season.

Following their 27-24 loss, where Trevor Lawrence threw a game-losing pick on the last drive of the game, Coen received unexpected praise in his press conference.

Coen was visibly appreciative of the reporter's kind comments. The Jaguars had their best season in franchise history since 1999. From a scoring perspective, this Jacksonville team scored more points in a season than any other season in Jags history.
So despite the loss, there are certainly a lot of positives to take away from the 2025-26 campaign, and this reporter recognized that.

Who is the reporter praising Jaguars?
The reporter who offered her outward support for Coen was Lynn Jones of the Jacksonville Free Press. Jones has worked as an associate editor at the Jacksonville Free Press since 2008.
After making these comments, many have come to support Jones and her positivity on social media. All the Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson (two former NBA players) responded to the viral clip by saying, "We need MORE of this from the media."
NFL insider Adam Schefter posted the clip and said, "This is an awesome post-game exchange between a reporter and Jaguars HC Liam Coen."
There has also been plenty of backlash toward the comments, as some think it was an unprofessional act that compromises impartiality as a reporter.
