The Jacksonville Jaguars are waiving a veteran defensive tackle and two-time Super Bowl champion.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Jaguars are cutting ties with defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, who will now go to waivers.

"The Jaguars are releasing veteran DT Khalen Saunders, per source. A two-time Super Bowl champion in Kansas City, Saunders now heads to waivers with a chance to help another contender in a playoff push," Pelissero reported.

Saunders entered the league as a third-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and won a pair of Super Bowls with the team during his four-year stint.

He departed for the New Orleans Saints in free agency in 2023 and spent two seasons there before landing with the Jaguars via trade in August.

Saunders has played sparingly, though, as he's appeared in just two games this season while being a healthy scratch in seven others. In those two games, Saunders played a combined total of 25 snaps and tallied three tackles.

While Saunders is hardly guaranteed to help out his next team, he should draw interest on waivers, especially from contenders looking for more depth.

Saunders should hit waivers on Friday, so we'll know his fate then.
