Many viewed this season as a make-or-break campaign for Trevor Lawrence. Since being drafted with the No. 1 overall pick back in 2021, his career has been all over the map.
Between injuries, poor roster construction, and Urban Meyer being his head coach, Lawrence never felt like he got the opportunity to thrive in Jacksonville.
Then the Jags hired Liam Coen, and Lawrence had no more excuses for playing poorly. Fortunately for him, Lawrence arguably had his best season as a pro. He passed for a career-high 29 touchdowns and a career-best QBR on the year.
Not only was there a statistical improvement, but also major winnings and achievements. The Jags finished with their best record at 13-4 since the 1999 season. They also won the AFC South for the second time in the last four years.
There's no doubt Coen deserves a lot of credit, but Lawrence has been producing on the field. If he goes down, who takes the snaps for the Jaguars?
Here's everything to know about the Jaguars' quarterback depth chart ahead of the 2025-26 playoffs.

Who is the Jaguars' backup quarterback?
Lawrence's backup is former Minnesota Viking Nick Mullens.
Mullens was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He stayed in Santa Clara for three seasons, with his most successful year being in 2020.
In the 2020 season, Mullens played in a career-high 10 games, passing for a career-best 2,237 yards and 12 touchdowns. After his three-year stay in San Francisco, Mullens was signed to the Cleveland Browns' practice squad.
Mullens started only one game with the Browns before heading to the Las Vegas Raiders for five months in the offseason, where he was then traded to the Vikings.
The quarterback out of Southern Miss stayed in Minnesota for three seasons before signing with the Jaguars as a free agent in March of 2025.
With all that being said, Mullens is a true journeyman of the NFL, and now he is the backup for Lawrence in Jacksonville.
