The Jacksonville Jaguars casually dropped 48 points on the New York Jets in Week 15 as the offense continues to fire on all cylinders.
The Jaguars have now posted 25 or more points in seven consecutive games, making them the only team to accomplish that feat this season, according to Underdog NFL.
Here are the point totals the Jags have dropped during that streak:
- Week 9: 30
- Week 10: 29
- Week 11: 35
- Week 12: 27
- Week 13: 25
- Week 14: 36
- Week 15: 48
In all, the Jaguars are averaging a whopping 32.9 points per game in that span. If that was their season-long average, Jacksonville would rank first in the NFL by more than two points over the Detroit Lions (30.6 points per game).
With Jacksonville's offense red hot, the team has won six of its last seven games and is now sitting atop the AFC South by one game over the Houston Texans.
In the AFC playoff picture, the Jags are sitting in the No. 3 spot and still have an opportunity to move up and even take the top seed.
But, in order to do that, they're going to need help from the Denver Broncos (No. 1) and New England Patriots (No. 2), both of whom occupy the top two spots.
According to the New York Times Playoff Simulator, the Jags have a 96% chance to make the playoffs, a 57% chance to win the division and a 10% chance to grab the top seed.
No matter how the Jags make the postseason, whether it be by winning the division or a grabbing a wild-card spot, this has been a successful campaign in the first year under head coach Liam Coen.
If the Jags can wrap up a playoff berth, it will be Jacksonville's first postseason appearance since 2022 — and Jacksonville will have the offense to thank for it.
