Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II had an up-and-down Week 3.
Moore set the tone early in the Colts’ 41-20 shellacking of the Tennessee Titans, snagging a pick-six on the first drive of the game to start the scoring.

But Moore’s day would end on a sour note, as he would leave the game with a calf injury. Initial reports indicated that Moore would miss a couple weeks with his ailment, prompting the Colts to add cornerback Mike Hilton to their practice squad. There’s no timetable just yet, but the belief is that the issue isn’t serious.
On Wednesday, Colts head coach Shane Steichen gave an update, saying that it’s more of an Achilles injury for Moore, who won’t practice.
“We’ll see how the week goes,” Steichen said on whether Moore will be able to practice at all before a Week 4 trip to play the Los Angeles Rams.
“With any injury, we rely on the trainers and doctors, I think that’s a big part of it,” Steichen said. “We’ll go through the rehab, run him and work him out and stuff, then rely on him and the trainers and the doctors.”
At this time, the Colts are not considering injured reserve as an option for Moore. While all the updates coming from the Colts building appear to be encouraging, there is some concern over the lack of clarity on what the issue really is. Given there’s no timetable for recovery, there’s no guarantee Moore doesn’t end up on injured reserve down the line.
Should that end up being the case, the cloudy communication from Steichen will be further scrutinized.
Still, the Colts are optimistic Moore can return sooner rather than later. Mekhi Blackmon will play in his absence, who’s allowed six catches on seven targets so far this season, according to Pro Football Reference.
