Daniel Jones injury update: What we know about Indianapolis Colts QB's fibula issue image

The Indianapolis Colts have an injury to monitor with quarterback Daniel Jones.

Jones has been on the team's injury report with a fibula issue the last few weeks but that has not stopped him from playing. In fact, Jones logged two full practices this week before being removed from the injury report.

There didn't seem to be much of a concern initially, but it has now been revealed that Jones is dealing with a fractured fibula, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Of course, it is not a severe issue because Jones wouldn't be playing if it was, but it at least leads to concern that the injury could become more serious if the Colts quarterback takes a big hit to the area.

While Rapoport's report suggests Jones and the Colts aren't concerned, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Jones could face issues when trying to move around while playing through the injury, and especially laterally.

Based on video out of practice this week that was shared by The Athletic's James Boyd, it would appear that Jones' movement is in fact hampered by the injury.

"Colts QB Daniel Jones throwing a couple play action passes. Doesn’t look as fluid or fast as normal, presumably due to his fibula injury," Boyd wrote.

If Jones' movement is indeed limited, that's going to be a major problem this week in particular, as the Houston Texans sport one of the best pass-rushes in the NFL, with Houston tied for sixth in sacks.

Jones and the Colts can downplay his injury all they want, but fans are going to be holding their breath after every hit Jones takes moving forward.

And, it would appear he's going to be more susceptible to taking those hits based on Schefter's report and Boyd's practice video.
