The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly made a decision on the futures of general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen.

According to E SPN's Adam Schefter, both Ballard and Steichen will return for another season in 2026.

Schefter adds that Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon will address the media on Monday, likely to announce the decision officially.

"Source: Colts GM Chris Ballard and HC Shane Steichen officially will return for the 2026 season," Schefter reported. "Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon will speak to the media Monday."

The Colts looked like a legit Super Bowl contender over the first half of the season before completely collapsing in the second half.

However, there was a defense for Steichen and Ballard, as the Colts' collapse began after quarterback Daniel Jones got hurt, something that played a major role in the team's epic downfall.

That could have very well saved both Steichen's and Ballard's jobs.

That said, both should be on very thin ice in 2026, and that's especially true for Ballard, who will be entering his 10th season on the job.

Indy has now missed the playoffs in all three seasons under Steichen, and Ballard has seen his team win just one playoff game since he took over in 2017.

If the Colts find themselves in the same position at this time next year, it will likely spell the end of both of their tenures.
