The Indianapolis Colts are moving some things around before Monday Night Football.
The big news is that defensive tackle star DeForest Buckner has been activated from Injured Reserve.
In order to make that move, the Colts had to waive a quarterback, Brett Rypien.
Rypien was the QB3 on the roster as presently constructed, behind 44-year old Philip Rivers and rookie Riley Leonard.
With Rivers and Leonard both fully healthy, the Colts have removed Rypien from the active roster.
If Rypien clears waivers, he could conceptually return to the Colts' practice squad.
Rypien is the nephew of long-time NFL player Mark Rypien.

Brett Rypien is a 29-year old quarterback who has appeared in 11 career NFL games.
He suited up in parts of three seasons for the Denver Broncos, then in 2023 for the Rams. He actually got into one game for the Bengals this season.
Rypien has started four games in his NFL career and put up a 2-2 record.
His numbers haven't been great: 58.3% completion rate and four touchdowns compared to nine interceptions.
Rypien is a journeyman who provides QB depth but likely no upside. It means he'll likely stick on rosters for years to come but probably not play very much.
Right now, the Colts had to risk losing him in order to bring Buckner back. It makes perfect sense for Indianapolis.
