The Houston Texans saw running back Woody Marks exit the Week 15 game early due to injury.

Marks suffered an ankle injury and was on the injury report this week. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday before finishing off the week with a limited session on Friday and drawing the questionable tag.

Here's what we know about Marks' chances of suiting up in the Week 16 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Is Woody Marks playing today?

Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com reports that Marks plans to play, although he still needs to be cleared before kickoff.

"Derek Stingley Jr. (Oblique), Woody Marks (ankle) both plan to play, final status being determined Sunday," Wilson wrote.

During the week, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that Marks could have gone back into the Week 15 game, but the team wanted to be cautious with him. That gives us extra confidence he's going to play.

“Woody could have come back in the game,” Ryans said. “He got his ankle tweaked a little bit there early in the game. For where he was, felt like Jawhar and Dare were doing a good job, so wanted to keep rolling with those guys and make sure Woody is good as we continue to go into the week.”

Final confirmation for Marks' status will come an hour and a half before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday.

Woody Marks start or sit advice

Marks has regularly gotten injured during games this season, and while he almost always returns to the game, this is extra concerning this week given the fact that Marks might not be operating at 100%.

Since taking over the reins of Houston's backfield in Week 10, Marks' production hasn't been that great, as he ranks as RB30 overall in fantasy points per game in that span.

Add in the facts that fellow back Nick Chubb is expected to play, also, and the Texans might give second-year rusher Jawhar Jordan more touches after he exploded in Week 15 and this sets up for a scary situation.

On the bright side, the Raiders do present a favorable matchup, with Las Vegas giving up the ninth-most fantasy points per game to running backs.

But there are just too many concerns with this situation. We're keeping Marks on the bench in Week 16.

Verdict: Sit
