Joe Mixon's Houston Texans debut season in 2024 was exceptional.
The 2025 campaign has been anything but.
Mixon hasn't played at all this season due to injury, and it's not clear if he'll play at all.

Mixon's game status
Mixon sustained a non-football injury during the offseason, involving his ankle, one that hasn't been clarified further than that.
Mixon was put on the non-football injury list, which kept him out through Week 4, at minimum. But it has already been much longer.
Will Mixon play this year?
With each passing week, it seems less and less likely that Mixon will come back for the 2025 season.
There's still half a season to go, but Mixon remains missing in action.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans has spoken about Mixon in the past tense, saying, “We’re rolling with the guys that are here. That’s the main thing. We miss Joe, miss his energy, and his enthusiasm and everything he brought to our team. We continue to press forward and hope he’s doing well.”
The Texans haven't provided any sort of positive updates, and they've just continued on with Nick Chubb and Woody Marks in the backfield.
That's how it seems like it'll be going forward, until there's any kind of better news about Mixon.
