The Houston Texans are in a rock fight with the Denver Broncos, leading 12-7 at the time of writing as they look to get back to.500 on the season and keep pace in the AFC wild card race. However, they suffered a serious injury in the midst of their Week 9 tilt.
Quarterback C.J. Stroud left the game with a head injury after being hit while sliding. He is now in concussion protocol. Many casual fans may be wondering who the Texans backup is, and that would be Davis Mills.
Mills has been with the Texans since 2021, when he was drafted in the third round out of Stanford. He started 28 games from 2021-22, going 5-19-1 as a starter. He was demoted to the backup after the Texans drafted Stroud. He has 35 career touchdown passes to 25 interceptions.
