Houston’s running back situation is something to monitor this week, as both Woody Marks and Nick Chubb are dealing with injuries following Sunday’s 20–10 victory over the Chiefs.
Chubb suffered an ankle injury and exited in the first half, never returning to the game. Marks was also shaken up but was able to re-enter after sitting out only a few snaps, one of which resulted in a five-yard touchdown run by Dare Ogunbowale.
If either Marks or Chubb is sidelined for Sunday’s matchup against Arizona, Ogunbowale could be in line for a larger workload, even though he has mostly served as a third-down and passing-game option during his career. That said, if Marks is able to return to practice later in the week, he would likely resume a lead role in what appears to be a favorable matchup against a Cardinals defense that has struggled recently.
