Texans' Dare Ogunbowale isn't even the best athlete in his own family image

The two greatest feats ever achieved by an Ogunbowale athlete have nothing to do with Dare Ogunbowale, the family's representative in the NFL, a running back for the Houston Texans.

Nope. They came from his sister, Arike Ogunbowale, and they'll be very hard to ever top.

Arike is a women's basketball star, and in her days at Notre Dame, she had the most historic Final Four ever in college basketball, men's or women's.

First, in the national semifinal, Notre Dame was tied 89-89 with UConn and holding for the last shot. Ogunbowale sized up her defender on the right wing and pulled up just inside the 3-point line. Money, with just 1.0 second on the clock.

And then in the national championship game, the Fighting Irish were tied 58-58 with Mississippi State and inbounding the ball with 3.0 seconds on the clock. Ogunbowale caught the ball on the right wing, took two dribbles right and flung up a leaning, high-arcing prayer. It dropped to win the national title.

Unless brother Dare Ogunbowale runs for a game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, those will be tough to beat.

Dare Ogunbowale has made a solid career for himself in the NFL as a pass-catching running back.

He went undrafted out of Wisconsin but is in his ninth season in the league.

Ogunbowale has played for Washington, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and Houston. He has 101 career catches, and more receiving yards than rushing yards.

Quite the athletic family, to be sure.
