Despite pushing to play, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was held out of the Week 12 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Jacobs suffered what was diagnosed as a contusion in his knee in the Week 11 win over the New York Giants. He was able to log a few limited practices during the week, but ultimately was ruled out on Sunday.

As we turn the page to Week 13, it's time to check in on Jacobs to see if he might be ready to play in the contest versus the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

Here's what we know.

Will Josh Jacobs return in Week 13?

The Packers dropped their first estimated injury report of the week on Monday and it had Jacobs as a limited participant in practice, which is status quo from last week and doesn't give us much help in regard to determining Jacobs' status.

However, Jacobs did say last week that if he sat out in Week 12, he would definitely play in Week 13, so there's that.

"Worst case if I don't play this week, Thursday I'm definitely playing," he said, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "It's not like something that'll linger over past that. That's really the worst-case scenario, yeah."

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero also reported that there is hope Jacobs suits up on Thursday.

"Josh Jacobs pushed all week to play despite his bone bruise and thigh contusion. But the Packers decided to play it cautiously with a short week upcoming. There was no pregame workout, just a conversation when Jacobs arrived," Pelissero reported. "There is hope he could play Thanksgiving at Detroit."

Based on that info and the fact that Jacobs was able to practice last week and on Wednesday of this week, there appears to be a very good chance Jacobs will be playing for Green Bay on Thanksgiving against the Lions.

The Packers will release two more injury reports this week, one on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. We should have confirmation by the latter day.
