The Green Bay Packers are giving running backs Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks increased snaps over fellow running back Josh Jacobs early on in the Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears.

Jacobs entered the weekend as questionable to play after not practicing at all during the week. However, Jacobs is active for the contest, although he isn't seeing a full complement of snaps early on.

Here's what the deal is with how the Packers are divvying up their running back snaps on Saturday night.

Why Emanuel Wilson is getting increased snaps

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported before kickoff that Jacobs would be on a "pitch count" for the contest, which means he's seeing a decreased workload.

"Few players in the NFL are tougher than Josh Jacobs. He was on a pitch count last week and probably will be again tonight. But he’s playing," Pelissero wrote.

Jacobs likely isn't 100% and the Packers have to worry about getting him to the playoffs healthy, so giving Wilson and Brooks more looks is understandable.

When Jacobs was limited last week, he ended up playing 32 snaps and still tallied 14 touches, so he should still see a solid workload.
