It's not clear whether the Green Bay Packers ever considered this for a moment.

But pretty much every NFL prognosticator threw it out there at some point during the offseason. The idea: The Packers should trade Romeo Doubs.

Good thing they didn't.

On Sunday Night Football in Week 4, on the road playing the Dallas Cowboys, Doubs had a career night.

The Packers wouldn't have been in the game without him.

Doubs finished with five grabs for 52 yards in regulation, not astounding just by those measures.

But then there was this: Doubs caught three touchdowns from Jordan Love.

That included the at-the-time go-ahead score with about two minutes to play to take a four-point lead on Dallas.

Doubs has always been a tantalizing talent, but as the trade speculators know, this has been quite the crowded wide receiver room.

Not everyone is healthy right now, which allowed Doubs to shine. Christian Watson and Jayden Reed are both out.

Doubs is the leader of the healthy group that also includes rookie Matthew Golden and the more experienced Dontayvion Wicks.

And on Sunday night, Love relied early and often and in key moments on Doubs. It worked out nicely, too.
