Packers are going to trade a receiver, but which one? Draft picks dictate rumors, action image

The Green Bay Packers have one of the most crowded receiving rooms in the NFL after this weekend's draft.

They already return Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks.

They added first-rounder Matthew Golden and the versatile TCU product Savion Williams over the weekend.

Something's gotta give.

The Athletic's Matt Schneidman pointed out in his draft class that none of the returning four receivers is under contract past 2026. That makes them all possible trade candidates.

Doubs has been the one floated most heavily in rumors this offseason, although there have been no substantive reports to suggest he's definitely the guy that will get traded.

In some ways, it's not a bad problem for QB Jordan Love to have. If the Packers keep everyone around, even an injury or two won't crush the receiving talent.

It also provides long-term support for Love, who surely will be with the Packers after at least a couple of those veteran receivers have moved on.

But it does create a steady drumbeat for the rest of the offseason. The Packers have other needs, so why should they sit on six talented wideouts and not try to fill other holes?

GM Brian Gutekunst has the chance to improve the overall team after apparently going with the best-player-available strategy during the draft.

It's always good to have talent in the building, but the Packers' receiver room is officially getting a little too crowded.
