The New Orleans Saints desperately need a spark after the team has begun the season with an 0-3 record.

Bleacher Report's Alex Kay believes the Saints can get that spark by trading for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs.

Kay proposes a trade that would send Doubs to The Big Easy for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Here's what Kay said about the trade proposal he suggested:

"With the Packers needing to develop their younger wideouts and likely to move on from Doubs after the season anyway, the Saints could capitalize by bringing a solid complementary piece in who can help out their up-and-coming QBs," Kay wrote.

While it certainly wouldn't hurt for the Saints to add another wide receiver, a trade for Doubs would hardly be the spark New Orleans needs.

The Saints have much bigger problems than their pass-catchers and Doubs isn't going to fix those, thus a team in desperate need of a rebuild like New Orleans shouldn't be selling off draft capital for someone who won't move the needle.

It also wouldn't make sense for the Packers to trade Doubs right now.

Yes, trading Doubs would prevent him from leaving for nothing in free agency in 2026 and will open up more looks for rookies like Matthew Golden and Savion Williams.

But Green Bay would also have a very inexperienced wide receivers room, which would be a shaky situation for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

Furthermore, the Packers are already short-handed at wide receiver with Jayden Reed on injured reserve and Christian Watson still on the shelf following a torn ACL suffered last season, so they really need Doubs in the lineup.

Now, could things trade closer to the deadline if the Packers get Watson back and Doubs looks like he's going to return on schedule?

Sure, but we wouldn't expect the Saints to be one of the teams in line to trade for Doubs if he becomes available.
